Welcome to the committee site for Quakers in Britain
Is this site for you?
This site is for Quakers who are either serving on committees or thinking about it.
If you are trying to find out about Quakers you are welcome to explore the public pages but you’d probably be better visiting our main website.
New to Quaker committees?
If you are here to find out more about serving on a Britain Yearly Meeting committee, you are especially welcome. Our national Quaker community relies on Quakers from across Britain offering their skills and talents in all sorts of ways. We are pleased to be able to say that most of those who offer service find the experience rewarding for their own spiritual life.
The tabs are arranged according to who the committees report to and if you hover on one you will see the names of the committees. Each one has a page with a summary of what the committee does and links to ‘Gold papers’ including terms of reference and other papers which should give you a good idea of how the committee works.
You’ll also find a short introduction to the committee clerk(s) and the staff who look after it along with their contact details.
Already on a committee?
If you sign in (with the user that your committee secretary will have given you) and visit the page that relates to your committee you should be able to see the public summary page and also private group pages, a papers page and a forum. These private pages are only available to your committee members and will be a hub for your committee.
You will also be able to join the site users group which is a group for all the users of QGroups, where you can help to develop the facilities available, discuss problems, obtain advice and share information and experiences.
We hope you find QGroups a useful new addition to our committee resources.
Logging in for the first time
Have a look at our getting started guide that takes you step by step through the process of logging in and uploading your photo, etc. This also provides an overview of where to find the different features. This will open in a new window so you can keep the guide open while you log in. You can also download it using your browser download option.
